Beatles are back with the re-release of all their music: a great opportunity for you to rediscover them.
The year was 1967 and the Beatles were at their pick: they had just released the exceptional «Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band» that Rolling Stone put in the top of all Rock albums of all times and they have just returned from their historic trip to India, where they met Maharishi Yogi. In short: they had just kicked-off a whole new era and the world would never be the same again.
It’s been more than 40 years and the Beatles are back after the re-release of their entire discography with the title «The Beatles Remastered»: after a process that lasted 4 years, all their albums are released again with remastered sound, both on individual CDs as well as in 2 big collections titled «The Beatles: Remastered in Stereo» & «The Beatles in mono» (with the group’s mono releases – many singles are in both mono & stereo). As most vinyl albums, their CD release had problems, with the new releases admitedly having a better sound.
I’m not sure whether Beatles Remastered has a significant difference from the albums you used to find in your store until yesterday. The first review say yes: personally I’m above all interested in the music. The new releases however give us the opportunity to re-discover maybe the biggest group of all times and a whole era. An era full of inspiration: the Beatles released 13 excellent albums in 7 years, radically evolving their sound in each one (today we see groups putting-out an album every 3 or even 4 years). In «Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band» for example they moved the music forward so much that the album practically contains everything that we were about the listen-to in the next 40 years, a unique combination of both commercial & artistic success.
Their music is still relevant: put on the player to «turn» 🙂 any of their classic albums («Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band», «Revolver» ή «Abbey Road») and there is no way you’re going to stop, because the Beatles far and beyond anything else they are fantastic musicians that produced the most emblymatic music of the 20th century.
«A day in the life» the most breakthrough Beatles song, from the exceptional «Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band»:
